Events & Happenings

Here is what is coming up in the life of our church:

Good Friday Service | April 14 · 6:30-7:30pm

On Good Friday, we will gather to remember the death of Jesus. The Innocent One was punished; the Healer was wounded; the Teacher was silenced; the Son was forsaken. On Easter morning we will celebrate the empty tomb, but on Good Friday we remember the wrath of God poured out on the Christ, who suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God (1 Peter 3:18). Kids are welcome, but there will not be any childcare provided. Our service will be held at Kinney Avenue Christian Fellowship (1801 Kinney Ave).

Men's Retreat | April 28-29 · Fri. evening-Sat. afternoon

The men of Providence Church are getting together for an overnight getaway at the end of April (6:30pm Friday to 4:00pm Saturday). Our speaker for the weekend will be Bob Thune. Bob is the lead pastor of Coram Deo in Omaha, NE. He is a sought after speaker and writer, and serves as a regional director for Acts 29. We are greatly indebted to Bob and to Coram Deo. They sent us to plant Providence Church 7 years ago, and so much of our DNA has been influenced by Bob’s leadership and teaching. He is a close friend and a wise leader. We are excited for him to spend some time with the men of our church. Our theme for this retreat is: “Taking the long view.” We will be asking big questions about identity and purpose. Not to raise expectation too high, but this is in Bob’s wheelhouse. We think you will be both challenged and refreshed by our time together. Registration is now open.

Providence Recovery | Every Thursday · 7:00-8:00pm

Providence Recovery is a Christ-centered twelve-step program designed to help people point each other to Jesus for healing and provide fellowship and accountability in applying Christian principles and practices to every area of life. Providence Recovery meets at 7:00pm on Thursdays at Kinney Avenue Christian Fellowship (1801 Kinney Ave). View the Recovery page for more details or send us an email with any questions you might have.
